Jerry Springer Revamps His GSN Dating Show

Jerry Springer is bringing new “Baggage” to the Game Show Network, with the network ordering 20 episodes of a spin-off version of the dating show, titled “Baggage on the Road.”
The new series will travel to four U.S. cities, beginning with Austin, Texas, and Baton Rouge, La. As with the original, Springer will host the dating show in which a contestant will choose from three potential suitors, all of whom bring physical or emotional baggage to the show in a suitcase, to be revealed during the course of the episode. In order to win a date with the contestant, the winning potential partner must be able to accept the secret baggage of the contestant.
The dating show is set to premiere in 2015. The original “Baggage” was canceled in 2011.
“It’s hard to be shocked in my line of work, but I’m continually amazed at how revealing the contestants on the show have been,” said Springer. “I’m looking forward to taking this show on the road and seeing how many fun but cringe-worthy moments we get from people looking to find love.”
“Baggage on the Road” is produced by Wilshire Studios, with Lisa Tucker as EP.
