Maritime Ipswich

Ipswich says "welcome aboard" with a fantastic free weekend of nautical celebration this weekend - and the Heart Angels are joining in, too.

Maritime Ipswich is gracing the shores of the Ipswich Waterfront with a major two-day summer festival this weekend - 20th and 21st August. It’s been 14 years since the last maritime festival in the town.

Over 50 classic historical vessels will fill the Waterfront marina. There is a food and drink court with over 20 stalls full of local Suffolk produce. Other entertainment includes a musket firing zone, static Spitfire displays, World War Two enactments, children’s entertainment and Popblast – the UK’s number one band for kids.

Come down and enjoy a variety of water activities, including blindfolded water racing, rowing, sculling and sailing dinghies.

Look out for period dance performances, costumed re-enactments, live traditional music, open-air performances and Fireworks against a backdrop of impressive traditional, classic and working vessels. The Heart Angels will be there on Saturday 20 August giving you the chance to win a top of the range digital camera thanks to HUGHES.
