A 24-year-old Ohio woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man she reportedly met on the dating app PlentyOfFish.
Shakira Graham, 24, was arrested on Wednesday in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and charged with aggravated murder in the December 17, 2018, shooting of 27-year-old Meshach Cornwall, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force said in a news release seen by Cleveland.com.
According to police reports obtained by INSIDER, investigators believe that Graham met Cornwall on the online dating service PlentyOfFish.
A police spokesman told INSIDER that Graham and Cornwall started speaking on PlentyOfFish in November, and met for the first time in person days before his death.
Police said Graham stayed over at Cornwall's Garfield Heights, Ohio, home — which he shared with his mother — on December 15, and returned to his home two days later.
Authorities told INSIDER that on December 17, Graham allegedly shot and killed Cornwall, and stole two guns, a TV, three cellphones, and his mother's gold 2009 Honda Accord.
Cornwall's mother found him unconscious and bleeding at the bottom of a set of stairs leading to his basement, according to the police report.
He was pronounced dead just after 11:40 a.m. on December 17, and died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Cornwall's mother last spoke to her son on the evening of December 16, police reports say. She visited his home on the morning of December 17 after she couldn't reach him by phone, according to police.
Cornwall's family was aware that he was dating Graham and were able to help identify her as a suspect, police told Cleveland.com.
The Garfield County Police Department is holding Graham on a $3 million bond.
Police said that another man was arrested on suspicion of theft in the case, but has not been charged.
